28/01/26 Men’s Blues 2-0 UEA 1s
Match Report
Blues 2 - 0 UEA 1s
Goals - Deniz x 2
Coming off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw against Notts trent, the boys knew that nothing short of 3 points against second place UEA was acceptable in a vital league game.
Going into the game, the boys didn't know what to expect but we heard rumours of a UEA strike force to be feared. These rumours were quickly put to sleep as Craddock bullied the striker out of the game. The first half saw the blues dominate the possession infront of an electric grange road atmosphere, but the boys were unable to break the UEA deadlock. With few chances to either side in the first half, the boys went into half time 0-0, knowing that they needed to raise the gears.
After a motivational, but calm blatchy half-time team talk, the boys fired into the second half with a new level of energy. As mussie stepped onto the pitch the game changed. Their defence couldn't handle the Swedish flair, with the crowd (and some of the UEA players) in awe of his Ronaldo Chop's. After a solid first 15 minutes, the skipper stepped up to the plate and tucked away a beautiful shot into the bottom right corner, the Boys buzzing that they broke the deadlock, 1-0 CUAFC!
From this point on, there were a few UEA chances, but nothing Aram couldn't handle in net with him doing a few brilliant saves. With around 10 minutes on the clock, Deniz slotted away a penalty, giving himself a brace, and a late dagger to UEA. Shortly after the final whistle blew and the 3 points were secured!
After the game, the vibes were high after being 4 points top of the table, and the boys fired into hawks with intensity. The day was finished off with a CUAFC quiz thanks to T Jenks, and certain strikers were spotted in Revs to carry on the celebrations.
