Meet the Presidents 2025/26

Hello, we are Joshua, Anna, and Oli, this year’s Presidents of CUAFC. We are all third-year undergraduates and in our third year with the club. With CUAFC in such a strong position, stepping into the role of co-presidents is something we have all considered a real privilege.

We inherited a club with much to celebrate: five Varsity victories, four BUCS title wins, a treble for the Kestrels in their BUCS debut, the Cambridge Univesity Sports Club of the Year award, and a highly successful Men’s Blues tour to Xi’an, China, where the squad finished in third place. These achievements are a testament to the strength and culture the club has built in recent years.

The first term of this year has continued this momentum. Most notably, our Women’s Third Team — the Merlins — entered BUCS for the first time and made an impressive start to their campaign. This not only marks a significant step forward for the growth of women’s football at Cambridge, but also means that during our time at CUAFC, the club has grown from three to six teams competing in BUCS, reflecting increased participation and sustained competitiveness across the club.

Michaelmas Term also marked the departure of our Senior Treasurer, Simon Cornish, after six years of service. We are incredibly grateful for everything Simon has done for CUAFC, particularly his instrumental role in bringing the Grange Road development to fruition. While he has stepped down from this role, we are pleased that his position within the University Sports Centre means he will remain a familiar presence in Cambridge, and we look forward with excitement to the next chapter for CUAFC under our new senior oversight structure. We welcome three brilliant individuals to our Senior Oversight Group: David Cardwell, Senior President, Guy O’Keefe, Senior Treasurer, and Victoria Harvey, Senior Member.

We are also delighted to have formally established our Alumni Advisory Group this year. Strengthening relationships with CUAFC alumni is a key priority for us, and we are keen to reconnect with those for whom the club was an important part of their university experience.

We hope to see many of you at the coming events this term and to continue strengthening the connection between CUAFC past and present.
